Before they were grandparents, they were teeing off.
When I think of the men in my family, I instantly think of golf. They all loved it - from my great-grandfather down to my brother. Occasionally I’d join them, but I didn’t hold the same passion (or fascination) for the game as they did. But I have to say, when I found this photo, I felt a flutter in my heart.

Before they were grandparents, they were caretakers.
I’ve seen people share their photos of great-grandparents and had to add mine to the collection. I was lucky to have met my great grandmother, though I was far too young to have gotten to know her. But what I do know, is that she was an unfailingly caring person. And it only makes sense that she was a critical care nurse back when medical technology was less than sophisticated.

Buncha’ tough guys, huh? I really like this photo of my great grandfather because it’s just him and his boys, hanging out in the woods, doing their thing. The stories my dad has about growing up on Oregon with him as a grandfather are pretty legendary. Top row, guy on the far left with hat and serious moustache? Yeah, that’s my great grandfather, Jacob.
